Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ScanWink ("ScanWink," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by OPPSNETS Global Academy & Consulting, LLC, collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use our websites, creator profiles, QR and barcode tools, business-card and receipt tools, analytics, billing features, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

1. Information we collect

Account information. We may collect your name, email address, account credentials, plan, account status, and profile information you choose to provide.

Content and configuration. We store information needed to provide saved assets and managed features, such as QR destinations, barcode metadata, business-card details, receipt data, creator-profile content, settings, and uploaded assets when the relevant feature saves them.

Usage and scan information. When ScanWink services are accessed or a managed QR is scanned, we may process technical data such as date and time, IP-derived country or region, browser/device category, language, referring information when available, QR/campaign identifiers, and security logs. We use this information to operate analytics, prevent abuse, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.

Billing information. Payments are processed by third-party payment processors such as Stripe. We may receive customer, subscription, transaction, payment-status, invoice, and payment-reference information from the processor. ScanWink does not intentionally store full payment-card numbers or card security codes.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide and secure the Services; authenticate users; save and deliver assets; operate managed QR destinations and analytics; process subscriptions and purchases; provide billing and customer support; prevent fraud, phishing, malware, and abuse; communicate service and billing notices; maintain records; enforce our Terms; and comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal bases for processing

Where laws such as the GDPR apply, processing may be based on performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where consent is required. You may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting prior lawful processing.

4. How information is shared

We may share information with service providers that help us operate the Services, including payment processors, hosting/infrastructure providers, transactional email providers, security providers, and professional advisers. We may also disclose information where required by law, legal process, governmental request, to protect rights or safety, to investigate abuse, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.

We do not sell payment-card information. We do not currently sell personal information for money or use ScanWink account information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If our practices materially change, we will update this policy and provide choices required by applicable law.

5. Public and user-directed information

Creator profiles, public QR destinations, social links, contact details, and other information you intentionally publish may be visible to anyone who has the relevant link or scans the relevant code. Do not publish information you do not want made public.

6. Cookies and local storage

ScanWink uses session cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, security, preferences, and core functionality. If we introduce non-essential analytics or advertising technologies that require consent in a jurisdiction, we will provide the appropriate notice and controls.

7. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain account and transaction records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary by data type, plan, legal requirement, and security need. Backup copies may persist for a limited period after deletion from active systems.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, password hashing, encrypted storage of designated secrets, secure payment-provider integrations, and security monitoring. No internet system can be guaranteed completely secure, and you are responsible for protecting your account credentials.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and whether particular privacy laws apply to us, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction or objection to certain processing, or information about categories of personal data and disclosures. California residents may also have rights under applicable California privacy law, including rights to know, correct, delete, and opt out of certain sale/sharing activities if those activities apply. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

To submit a privacy request, email campus@oppsnets.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized-agent requests may require evidence of authorization.

10. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13. Users who are minors in their jurisdiction should use the Services only with any consent or supervision required by applicable law.

11. International use and transfers

ScanWink may be accessed internationally. Information may be processed in countries different from your country of residence, including the United States, subject to applicable safeguards and legal requirements.

12. Third-party sites and services

QR destinations, social networks, payment services, websites, and other third-party services linked through ScanWink are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. ScanWink is not responsible for third-party privacy or security practices.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our Services, vendors, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes may also be communicated through the Services or by email when appropriate.
